Puneet Chaddha, HSBC Global Asset Management’s CEO of its business in India, was tapped to take on the roles of CEO of the firm’s Singapore business and head of Southeast Asia, starting Nov. 1.
The regional role, driving the growth of the firm’s business across all client segments in markets such as Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, is new, said a Hong Kong-based spokesman.
For the role of CEO of HSBC Global Asset Management (Singapore), Mr. Chaddha replaces Kalen Lim, who will take on a senior role outside of asset management in the broader HSBC organization. The spokesman said there are no further details at present on Ms. Lim’s next position.
A successor for Mr. Chaddha’s India CEO position will be announced “in due course,” said an HSBC news release Wednesday.
Mr. Chaddha will report to Pedro Bastos, the firm’s Hong Kong-based CEO, Asia-Pacific, and Matthew Colebrook, head of retail banking and wealth management in Singapore.
