Hazel McNeilage joined Northern Trust Asset Management as managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, a spokeswoman said.
Ms. McNeilage replaces John Krieg, who returned to the U.S. in 2014 to take on the new position of global head of institutional distribution.
Ms. McNeilage is responsible for institutional business development and relationship management across the region. She reports to Wayne Bowers, head of Northern Trust Asset Management, EMEA and Asia-Pacific.
Ms. McNeilage “brings deep knowledge of asset management coupled with strong board governance experience, and her leadership will continue to position us for growth across the region,” Mr. Bowers said in a news release.
Ms. McNeilage most recently was at Northill Capital, where she worked on a project related to its European distribution, said a spokeswoman for Northill Capital.
Northern Trust Asset Management has $887 billion in assets under management.
