Orange County Employees Retirement System, Santa Ana, Calif., expects to launch searches for six consultants and other service providers next year, the $12.1 billion pension fund's 2016 business plan shows.
Searches are planned for general investment consultant, consulting actuary, hedge fund consultant, real estate investment consultant, custodian and securities lending provider.
Currently, NEPC is OCERS' general investment consultant; The Segal Co. is the actuary; Aksia is the hedge fund consultant; RVK, real estate consultant; and State Street provides custodian and securities lending services. All will be invited to rebid.
OCERS is planning to conduct the searches because its policies require contracts be put out to bid at least every six years. The RFPs will be posted on OCERS' website, said Robert Kinsler, spokesman in an e-mail.
OCERS plans to launch the general consultant search in the first quarter. NEPC's contract ends in August. The real estate consultant search is planned for the second quarter, and the hedge fund consultant search is scheduled for the third quarter.
