Louisiana Municipal Police Employees Retirement System, Baton Rouge, committed $15 million to Warburg Pincus Private Equity XII, a growth fund whose investments include health care, industry, technology and energy companies, said Kathy Bourque, director.
HarbourVest Partners was the other finalist.
The $1.8 billion pension fund began an invitation-only search in April following the board's approval of commitments in 2015 of $15 million each to a secondary private equity fund and a private equity fund or fund of funds.
The pension fund committed $15 million to Coller International Partners VII, a secondary private equity fund, in June.
Investment consultant NEPC assisted.
