John B. Stimpson joined alternative investments manager Aetos Capital as director, client relations and business development.
The position is new, part of an expansion of Aetos' marketing and client-facing team, said Michael Klein, co-president.
“We've known John for a long time and when circumstances arose, we were very pleased to bring him on. John has a lot of experience with customized portfolios, which fits well with Aetos' approach, as well as with public pension plans,” Mr. Klein said.
Mr. Stimpson was a director in the marketing unit of hedge funds-of-funds manager KKR Prisma. He left at the end of the summer, said Kristi Huller, a KKR spokeswoman. Pam Testani Tholen, a KKR principal who previously worked on strategic projects for KKR's credit investment team, assumed Mr. Stimpson's duties.
Aetos Capital managed $10 billion, mostly for institutional investors, as of Sept. 30.
