Venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers has embarked on a digital teach-in, with a new set of podcasts designed to provide entrepreneurs, investors and others insight into the kindler, gentler, helpful side of venture capital.
The weekly podcast series Ventured is being billed as a show in which startups, founders, and capital collide. The first episode is about the intersection of social mission and successful business. In the second episode, Kleiner Perkins General Partner John Doerr interviews Netflix CEO Reed Hastings.
Kleiner Perkins has made podcasts in the past, but the series concept is new.
Other scheduled episodes include Investing in Food Technology: How It Can Save the Planet and Improve Human Health and Deconstructing Venture Capital: Rapid Fire Q&A About Tech Investing in Silicon Valley.
Most podcasts will be hosted by Kleiner Perkins partners, and guests will include the venture capital firm's portfolio company executives, said Stephanie Heise, a Kleiner Perkins spokeswoman, in an e-mail.
The podcasts can be found on iTunes and Soundcloud.
