Peter Muller is best known in investment management circles as the quant guy who developed a process-driven, systematic trading strategy for Morgan Stanley in 1993 that's now run by his own firm, PDT Partners LLC, New York.
But PDT's founder and CEO possesses a vibrant musical avocation that sustained him through his years as a money manager. He is about to release his third album — “Two Truths and a Lie”— on a tour later this month.
All proceeds from the shows in Chicago, Boston, New York and Santa Barbara, Calif., will benefit charities in each city, and all proceeds from album and singles sales go to support charity: water.
“"Two Truths and a Lie' is my favorite album,” Mr. Muller said in an e-mail, noting that he “had a blast working with (producer) Rick DePofi and my trio to record it.”
Mr. Muller, a keyboardist and songwriter, said he is excited about hitting the road to play songs from the album while “raising money for a collection of great causes.”
Dates and details for each of the concerts, as well as song tracks and information about the music, are available at petemuller.com.
PDT Partners manages $6.8 billion in quantitatively managed hedge funds.
