David Carruthers will join Melbourne-based investment consultant Frontier Advisors, effective Oct. 19, as a senior consultant and head of the firm's retirement solutions group.
The position is new, said spokesman Wayne Sullivan. Over the past three years, Frontier has devoted growing resources to the retirement solutions group, which focuses on the decumulation challenges facing superannuation plan participants, he said.
Previously, Mr. Carruthers was a Melbourne-based principal with Mercer Investments. His 18-year stint at the firm, most recently as global product manager, investment data and analytics, ended in December 2014 as part of a business reorganization.
Mr. Carruthers said in an e-mail he has done a few consulting jobs in the interim but mostly “spent some quality time with my children.”
CEO Damian Moloney said in a news release Mr. Carruthers' experience will support the firm's “ambitions in two key strategic areas … technology and retirement solutions.”
