St. Louis Employees’ Retirement System hired Peregrine Capital Management to run $20 million in active domestic small-cap growth equities, said Richard Olliges, accounting officer.
The $760 million pension fund issued an RFP in May because incumbent manager Columbia Partners LLC Investment Management was on watch for underperformance. The manager will now be terminated.
The other finalist was Hood River Capital Management.
Steven J. Binder, Columbia Partners’ managing principal, director of client relations, did not return a phone call seeking comment by press time.
