Steve Fierstein was named senior vice president, global head of consultant relations at GE Asset Management, said spokesman Chris Linehan.
He replaced Douglass Heckman, who left in July to become managing director and head of consultant relations at RidgeWorth Investments, said a news release from RidgeWorth.
Mr. Fierstein will oversee and direct the firm’s strategy for supporting and strengthening relationships with the consultant community. He will report to Maureen Mitchell, president of global sales and marketing.
Mr. Fierstein was senior consultant relations manager at GEAM. The company is currently searching for a replacement.
GEAM had $115 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
The money manager’s parent company, General Electric Co., announced on Sept. 10 it was exploring options to sell GEAM.
