Guy Sears was appointed interim CEO at the Investment Association, as the U.K. trade body for money managers searches for a permanent candidate.
Mr. Sears replaces Daniel Godfrey. Mr. Godfrey took over as CEO in December 2012. Mr. Sears currently is director, risk, compliance and legal, at the Investment Association. A spokesman said Mr. Sears also remains in that role.
A search for a permanent CEO is underway, and will take “as long as it takes to find the right candidate,” said the spokesman in an e-mail.
“The board would like to thank (Mr. Godfrey) for his significant contribution to the Investment Association,” said Helena Morrissey, chairwoman of the IA, in a news release. “During his time (he) has driven a number of important initiatives, including the transformative merger with ABI Investment Affairs. His commitment and passion for our industry is widely admired by all those who have worked with him. We owe him a great debt of gratitude and wish him the very best for the future.”
Members of the IA collectively manage about £5.5 trillion ($8.3 trillion) of assets.
