Elizabeth Hewitt was named chief investment officer and senior vice president of the $1.9 billion Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, New York.
Ms. Hewitt is expected to start Nov. 2, said a news release. She replaces William Petersen, who retired earlier this year, the release said.
Nate Williams, a foundation spokesman, did not return calls by press time.
Ms. Hewitt has been managing director for public investments at the $10.2 billion Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the news release. Melissa Blair, a spokeswoman for the Princeton, N.J.-based foundation, declined to comment on a replacement.
