Pension Protection Fund, Croydon, England, appointed 16 firms to a panel of specialist investment consultants and managers that can be engaged at short notice to advise on a number of issues, said a spokeswoman for the pension fund.
The firms chosen are Allianz Global Investors, Altius Associates, Aon Hewitt, bfinance, Cambridge Associates, Cardano, CBRE Indirect Investment Services, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Inalytics, KPMG, Mercer, Redington, Russell Investments, State Street Bank and Trust, StepStone Group and Towers Watson.
The £22.6 billion ($34.3 billion) pension fund, which is the lifeboat fund for U.K. defined benefit plans of insolvent companies, will use the panel for areas including specialist investment advice, money manager due diligence, and analysis of co-investment/direct opportunities manager monitoring.
A search was launched in December. At the time, a spokesman said the panel would be in addition to its lead investment consultant, Mercer.
