Retirement plan service providers and consultants will storm Capitol Hill on Oct. 20 to remind members of Congress of the role the private-sector retirement system plays in the national economy and their own districts.
The “Rally for Retirement” is a biennial event of the American Retirement Association, Arlington, Va., which is made up of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, ASPPA College of Pension Actuaries, National Association of Plan Advisors and National Tax-deferred Savings Association.
The ASPPA has nearly 10,000 members that provide plan administration, compliance, plan design and actuarial consulting, legal, record-keeping and vendor services, and 1,500 of them will be in Washington for their annual conference at the time of the rally.
“As we head into an election year, it's more important than ever that the nation's lawmakers appreciate the perspective and experience of ASPPA's membership, many of which are business owners and leaders in communities across America,” said Brian Graff, CEO of the American Retirement Association.
