Spokane (Wash.) Employees’ Retirement System hired Victory Capital Management to run $9 million in active international small-cap equities, said recently released board meeting minutes.
The $290 million pension fund conducted an invitation-only search earlier in the summer due to performance concerns with incumbent manager Epoch Investment Partners, which the board voted to terminate at its Aug. 26 meeting.
John Wachter, managing director, marketing, at Epoch Investment Partners, did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
Investment consultant Hyas Group assisted.
