Norfolk County Council Pension Fund, Norwich, England, is leading a search for a preapproved list of ESG providers, said Alexander Younger, investment and actuarial services manager at the £2.8 billion ($4.3 billion) pension fund.
Services could include proxy voting, engagement and research. Whether investment management services will be sought could not be learned by press time.
The preapproved list of firms, or framework agreement, will help local government pension funds in the U.K. find environmental, social and governance service providers without running full RFP exercises. Norfolk County is leading the search on behalf of 12 local government pension funds.
After the pool of firms is in place, underlying mandates will be determined by individual “call-offs” from participating funds, Mr. Younger said in an e-mail. A launch date for the search could not be learned by press time.
A “concept viability day” will be held in London on Oct. 7 for interested firms to learn more about the framework.
Norfolk County has led similar framework searches for consultants, custodians and actuaries.
