Steven Catchpole was named pensions investment director at Aviva Staff Pension Scheme, Aviva spokeswoman Jess Geoghegan said in an e-mail.
Mr. Catchpole replaces Ian McKinlay, who left earlier this year. The pension plan had £14.7 billion ($23 billion) in assets as of Dec. 31, according to its most recent annual report.
Mr. McKinlay joined Lloyds Banking Group earlier this month as chief investment officer, overseeing the group’s pension scheme assets, a spokeswoman for the group said. She declined to provide an asset size. It is a new position.
According to Lloyds Banking Group’s 2014 annual report, group defined benefit funds had a total of £38.1 billion of assets.
Mr. Catchpole was previously head of investments for the Aviva pension fund. Ms. Geoghegan declined to comment on a replacement.
