John Eckerson, co-founder and co-chief investment officer of hedge fund manager Claren Road Asset Management, will retire at the end of the year.
His co-chief investment officer, Sean Fahey, will assume his duties, said two sources with knowledge of the firm’s changes, who asked not to be identified. Albert Marino, Claren Road’s chief operating officer, declined to comment.
Claren Road reported assets of $4.2 billion as of June 30, down from a peak of $8.5 billion as of Sept. 30, 2014, but redemptions likely will reduce the company’s assets by half at the end of this month, Pensions & Investments reported in August.
