Ajit Singh was named chief investment officer at the Houston Firefighters’ Relief & Retirement Fund, effective Oct. 30, said a spokeswoman for the $3.8 billion pension fund.
Mr. Singh replaces Christopher Gonzales, who left the pension fund last September to become director of global trust investments at LyondellBasell Industries.
Linda P. Calnan, senior investment officer, had been filling in as interim CIO during the search for a permanent CIO.
Previously, Mr. Singh was chief risk officer at the $54 billion United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund, New York. A spokeswoman could not immediately be reached for information on a replacement.
