Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, committed $50 million to Entertainment IP Fund, managed by Shamrock Capital Advisors, said a transaction report on the $25.2 billion pension fund’s website.
The direct lending fund’s investment focus is on restructuring opportunities within the entertainment, media and communication sectors. Shamrock Capital’s progenitor firm was the family investment office of Roy E. Disney.
The commitment to the entertainment fund is TCDRS’ third to a direct lending fund so far this year, for a total of $135 million.
The prior commitments were OrbiMed Royalty Opportunities II, $35 million, and Silver Point Specialty Credit Fund, $50 million, according to the pension fund’s transaction report.
