James McCormick joined hedge fund manager Prologue Capital Management as partner and global head of strategy and research on Monday.
Mr. McCormick oversees research functions to support investment strategy for Prologue's discretionary macro and fixed-income relative-value strategies from the firm's London office, said Armel Leslie, a company spokesman, in an e-mail. Mr. McCormick reports to Prologue Capital founders David Lofthouse and Graham Walsh.
Tomas Jelf previously held the firm's top research position. He will leave Prologue on Sept. 25. Mr. Leslie did not know Mr. Jelf's plans and he could not be reached for comment.
Mr. McCormick was head of asset allocation research for Barclays investment bank.
Prologue Capital managed $1.2 billion in hedge funds worldwide as of June 30.
