Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine, reported an endowment return of 14.4% in the fiscal year ended June 30, a news release said.
The college’s $1.4 billion endowment also reported annualized three-year, five-year and 10-year returns of 16.5%, 14.7% and 10.5%, respectively, compared to what the news release said were the mean returns of comparative colleges and universities of 9.9%, 9.6%, and 6.6%, respectively.
“This investment performance is truly remarkable,” said Bowdoin President Clayton Rose in the news release. “It represents outstanding work by Paula Volent, our senior vice president for investments, and her staff, and by an investment committee made up of brilliant professionals who care deeply about our college and understand the importance of building and stewarding these resources.”
Spokesman Doug Cook said the college would not provide any further information beyond the news release.
