David Steyn will join Robeco Groep NV as chairman and CEO of the management board, effective Nov. 1.
Mr. Steyn will replace Roderick Munsters, who announced this month that he would resign from both positions.
Mr. Steyn's appointment is subject to approval by Dutch authorities, Robeco said in a news release. Following that, he will work with Mr. Munsters to “ensure a smooth transition.”
Mr. Steyn will continue to implement Robeco's growth plan, said Dick Verbeek, chairman of the supervisory board, in the news release. “I'm confident that we can count on (Mr. Steyn's) long and proven track record in asset management to lead Robeco and benefit from the opportunities that will arise in the global asset management market in the years to come.”
Mr. Steyn was previously head of strategy at Aberdeen Asset Management. A spokesman for the firm said his responsibilities will be absorbed by other members of the team.
