Chicago Public School Teachers’ Pension & Retirement Fund committed a total of $80 million to infrastructure and private equity managers, Angela Miller-May, director of investments, said in an e-mail.
The $10.7 billion pension fund committed $50 million to Brookfield Infrastructure Fund III, managed by Brookfield Asset Management.
For private equity, it hired Headhaul Capital Partners and RLJ Equity Partners, both minority-owned managers, allocating $15 million to each, said Ms. Miller-May. Further information on the private equity commitments could not be learned by press time.
The moves are the result of separate RFPs the fund issued earlier this year for infrastructure managers and private equity managers owned by minorities, women, people with disabilities or veterans.
