Daniel P. Nielsen was named a managing director at Great Lakes Advisors, spokesman John Vita said.
The position is new.
Mr. Nielsen will work with clients providing access to sustainable and responsible strategies that favor companies with better environmental, social and governance performance; thematic strategies including clean energy and green portfolios; and portfolios that incorporate faith-based values. He will report to Thomas R. Kiley, CEO.
Mr. Nielsen was director, head of Catholic responsible investing at Christian Brothers Investment Services. A search for a replacement is underway, said CBIS spokesman Michael Castino. In the meantime, Julie Tanner, assistant director of Catholic responsible investment, and Francis G. Coleman, executive vice president at CBIS, will oversee the department on an interim basis.
Great Lakes Advisors currently manages nearly $7 billion in assets.
