David Silk was named director, U.S. business development at Standard Life Investments, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. Silk will lead SLI's sales efforts for Taft-Hartley pension funds. He will report to Eric Roberts, head of institutional sales.
Mr. Silk was a principal and account manager for Cadence Capital Management. Cadence Capital CEO Michael J. Skillman said Mr. Silk has not yet been replaced but the company is currently talking to possible candidates to replace him.
Standard Life Investments had $393.1 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
