Michael Beblo, director of alternative investments at the $27.6 billion Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System, Harrisburg, died Aug. 2, spokesman Jay Pagni said.
“Michael was an important part of the SERS investment team, with a deep knowledge of private market investing and widely regarded for his investment acumen,” said a statement from the pension fund. “Not only an accomplished investor, Michael was a respected colleague. He was very active in his community and supported several community organizations including The Salvation Army, American Red Cross, his local food bank and The Nature Conservancy. Michael will be greatly missed.”
Mr. Beblo's duties are being handled by the rest of the alternative investments team.
Mr. Pagni declined to provide further details at the request of the family.
