El Paso (Texas) Firemen & Policemen Pension Fund committed $8 million to Southern Cross Latin America Private Equity Fund V, pending legal review, said Mark Austin, deputy director, in an e-mail.
The buyout fund is managed by Southern Cross Group.
The $1.3 billion pension fund has a 10% target allocation to private equity.
Investment consultant Meketa Investment Group assisted.
