Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, Nashville, is searching for a general investment consultant, said Shelli King, spokeswoman for David H. Lillard Jr., Tennessee state treasurer, who oversees the pension fund, in an e-mail.
The $44 billion pension fund had scheduled the RFP in December 2014.
Michael Brakebill, chief investment officer, said at the time in a telephone interview that current consultant Strategic Investment Solutions, whose contract is expiring at the end of this year, will be invited to rebid.
The investment consultant will also advise the state on four other funds, including the $2.5 billion Optional Retirement Program, a defined contribution plan.
The RFP is available on the state’s website. Proposals are due at 2 p.m. EDT on Sept. 24. A decision is expected by Oct. 20.
