John Burke was appointed head of institutional at Royal London Asset Management, said a spokeswoman for the firm.
The role is new, and Mr. Burke starts Sept. 2. He will be responsible for the growth and direction of Royal London’s institutional business, and will report to Rob Williams, head of distribution.
Mr. Burke “is a great fit for RLAM and will bring fresh drive to our growth ambitions in the institutional space,” said Mr. Williams in a news release by RLAM, which has £83.4 billion ($130.8 billion) of assets under management.
Mr. Burke previously was head of business development at Newton Investment Management. A spokeswoman could not be reached for comment by press time.
