Peter R. Rapin was named vice president and treasurer of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Akron, Ohio, said Keith Price, company spokesman.
He will replace Thomas Kaczynski, who is leaving the company on Aug. 28. Among his duties will be oversight of the investment management of the company's pension plans.
Mr. Rapin previously was vice president, tax and treasury at TRW Automotive Holdings Corp., Livonia, Mich., where he oversaw global treasury, tax, insurance and that company's pension plan.
Mr. Kaczynski will begin his new role on Aug. 31 at Marathon Petroleum Corp., Findlay, Ohio, as vice president of finance and treasurer, said Marathon spokesman Jamal Kheiry. Among his duties will be the oversight of the investment management of that company's pension plans. He takes on previous roles of Tim Griffith, who was promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer.

As of Dec. 31, Goodyear had $4.8 billion in U.S. pension plan assets, according to the company's most recent 10-K filing. As of Dec. 31, Marathon Petroleum had $1.7 billion in pension plan assets, according to that company's most recent 10-K filing.
