Vijay C. Advani and Jennifer M. Johnson were named co-presidents at Franklin Resources, effective Oct. 1, said a company news release.
They will replace Gregory E. Johnson. Mr. Johnson will continue in his role as board chairman and CEO.
As co-presidents, Mr. Advani and Ms. Johnson will “jointly oversee investment management and all related investment management support services, including trading and risk management, in addition to their previous areas of responsibility,” the news release stated.
Mr. Advani joined Franklin in 1995 and currently serves as executive vice president, global advisory services. Ms. Johnson, executive vice president and chief operating officer, joined the firm in 1988 and formerly served as its chief information officer.
Mr. Advani and Ms. Johnson will retain their current responsibilities in addition to their new responsibilities, a Franklin spokesman said in an e-mail.
Franklin Resources had $866.5 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
