Emma Hunt was appointed director, strategic client management and business development at Hermes Equity Ownership Services, a spokeswoman said.
It is a new position, and Ms. Hunt will start in September.
Ms. Hunt will be based in London and report to Colin Melvin, CEO of the engagement and voting specialist team, which is owned by Hermes Investment Management. Hermes EOS advises on £115.7 billion ($179.3 billion) of assets.
Ms. Hunt “shares our deep belief that engaged ownership is beneficial to investors and companies, and she will help us to continue to work to this end,” Mr. Melvin said in a news release from Hermes.
She previously was global co-head of sustainable and responsible investment at investment consultant Towers Watson. A spokeswoman at Towers Watson could not be reached for comment by press time.
