David Cooper, chief investment officer of the $30.2 billion Indiana Public Retirement System, Indianapolis, is leaving to become CIO of the Purdue Research Foundation.
Mr. Cooper, who has been Indiana PERS’ CIO since June 2010, resigned effective next month.
The exact date of Mr. Cooper’s departure was not announced. He is expected to attend the Sept. 11 meeting of the INPRS board in Indianapolis, said Jennifer Dunlap, retirement system spokeswoman.
Mr. Cooper will manage the $2.8 billion foundation’s Office of Investments, in West Lafayette, Ind. The position is now being handled by Scott Seidle, senior vice president for finance and investments at Purdue University, according to the foundation’s website. Mr. Seidle could not be immediately reached for further details.
Scott Davis, Indiana Public Retirement’s deputy CIO and director of public equity, will become interim CIO after Mr. Cooper leaves.
INPRS will form a committee to conduct a national search for a permanent CIO.
