Alex Navab, member and head of Americas private equity at alternative investment firm KKR & Co., is co-heading the national advisory board of Youth INC, a New York non-profit with Wall Street A-listers populating its boards.
Mr. Navab will be serving alongside the group's founder, former executive director and Goldman Sachs investment banker Stephen K. Orr, whose current day job is managing partner and co-founder of Orr Associates Inc., a consulting firm to the non-profit industry. Youth INC assists smaller non-profits that serve New York City youth with everything from fundraising and building boards to funding infrastructure.
“Since I became involved with Youth INC over 15 years ago, we have cultivated a strong and growing group of business executives, their companies and employees,” Mr. Navab said in a news release. “We see it as our time to pay it forward and make a difference.”
Youth INC's advisory board reads like a who's who of finance, with such names as Stephen A. Schwarzman, chairman, CEO and co-founder of The Blackstone Group, George H. Walker, chairman and CEO, Neuberger Berman; Marc Lasry, chairman, CEO and co-founder, Avenue Capital; Thomas H. Lee, president, Lee Equity Partners; and Alan D. Schwartz, executive chairman, Guggenheim Partners LLC.
In another change, Kathleen McCabe, head of investor relations at Morgan Stanley, was appointed co-president of Youth INC's board of directors.
