Plymouth County (Mass.) Retirement Association is searching for an alternatives investment consultant for the $830 million pension plan.
Dennis Gallagher, office coordinator for the retirement association, said the board is conducting the search because it wants to diversify its portfolio. Wainwright Investment Council is Plymouth County’s current investment consultant and is invited to bid.
Mr. Gallagher added the board intends to have only one investment consultant, with the alternatives consultant offering advice to in-house staff on traditional asset allocation.
About $230 million, roughly 28% of the total portfolio, now is allocated to alternative investments.
The RFP is available on the pension plan’s website
Proposals are due 2 p.m. EDT on Sept. 11. A selection is expected to be made by November.
