Steven Blackie was appointed U.K. head of investments at Mercer, said a spokeswoman for the consultant.
Mr. Blackie, who was already a partner, assumes the role from Patrick Race, who is stepping back from business leadership to focus on client work and a small number of new service delivery, risk and governance responsibilities. These new responsibilities are in addition to his client portfolio, added the spokeswoman. His new title could not be learned by press time.
Mr. Blackie is based in the firm’s Edinburgh office, and is responsible for continuing to grow the investments business in the U.K. He is particularly focused on developing Mercer’s advisory and delegated services, as well as expanding insurance market and wealth management strategies.
Mr. Blackie most recently was commercial director for Mercer’s U.K. investments business. Details on a replacement could not be learned by press time.
