David Shairp joined Prudential Portfolio Management Group as head of research, said a spokeswoman for Prudential.
The role is new, and Mr. Shairp reports to Al Denholm, CEO of PPMG, the manager-of-managers business for Prudential Group in the U.K. It runs more than £155.2 billion ($240.6 billion) of Prudential’s investments.
Mr. Shairp is responsible for managing and developing Prudential’s research and asset allocation process.
He previously was managing director, global strategist and portfolio manager in the multiasset solutions group at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. A spokeswoman said the firm is not replacing Mr. Shairp’s role, but has been expanding the team.
