Florida State Board of Administration, Tallahassee, is searching for a portfolio manager in strategic investments and private equity, a new position.
Responsibilities include identifying prospective managers and funds for the alternatives investment program in the strategic investments allocation and private equity structured investments contained within that portfolio, as well conducting due diligence, monitoring performance and assisting in developing portfolio strategies.
The FSBA oversees a total of $180.7 billion, including $10.2 billion in strategic investments, which include hedge funds, activist equity strategies, debt, real assets and private equity.
Qualifications include three years of experience in working with funds in alternative investments, or substituting one year of such experience with a master’s or doctorate degree.
The portfolio manager will report to Trent Webster, senior investment officer, strategic investments and private equity.
The FSBA expects to fill the position “as soon as the interview process is completed after the Aug. 25 closing deadline,” said Dennis D. MacKee, FSBA director of communications, in an e-mail.
