Brian Kilpatrick joined Santander Asset Management U.K. as head of portfolio strategy, pension solutions team, said a spokeswoman for the firm.
Further details on the role were not available by press time.
Santander Asset Management has more than £125 billion ($194 billion) of assets under management.
Mr. Kilpatrick previously was head of Marks & Spencer Pension Trust and head of investment in London. The pension fund has £8.6 billion of assets.
A spokeswoman for Marks & Spencer said Simon Lee is now head of M&S Pensions Trust and head of investment. Mr. Lee was head of investments, group pensions at Lloyds Banking Group. A spokesman for Lloyds Banking Group could not be reached for comment by press time.
