Susan M. Brengle was named managing director, institutional, at Eaton Vance Management, said company spokeswoman Colleen Lavery.
She replaced Matthew J. Witkos, president of Eaton Vance Distributors, who led the institutional group on an interim basis since September 2013.
Ms. Brengle oversees institutional business development, consultant relations and relationship management efforts in the U.S. and Canada. She also oversees institutional business activities in the U.S. for Hexavest, a Montreal-based investment manager affiliated with Eaton Vance.
She reports to Mr. Witkos.
Ms. Brengle was director of institutional client relationship management at Eaton Vance Management. She will continue those responsibilities until a replacement is hired.
Eaton Vance and its affiliates managed $307.3 billion in assets as of June 30.
