Robert Discolo was named executive vice president, investments, at alternatives money manager Permal Group, spokesman Alastair Crabbe said in an e-mail.
It is a new position. He previously was managing director and head of hedge fund solutions at PineBridge Investments. PineBridge spokeswoman Monique McLemore did not immediately return a phone call seeking further information.
Additionally, Terrence Purcell was named executive vice president, portfolio management, also a new position. He previously was principal investment officer, alternative investments and private equity, at the $29.6 billion Connecticut Retirement Plans & Trust Funds, Hartford. David Barrett, spokesman for Connecticut Treasurer Denise L. Nappier, principal fiduciary for the system, said they are finalizing plans for a search for a replacement.
Also, Marc Bleiden was named executive vice president, chief risk officer. Mr. Bleiden joined the firm on July 1. He was previously chief risk officer at hedge fund-of-funds manager Man FRM. Officials at Man FRM were not available to provide further information by press time.
All three are based in New York.
