Natasha Cupps was named director of public markets and marketable alternatives at the $2.27 billion University of Illinois Foundation, according to a news release.
It is a new position. Ms. Cupps — who currently is investment manager of public markets at the Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University’s office of investments, which oversees the assets of the school’s $4.5 billion endowment fund — will assume her new position Aug. 17. The endowment is based in Champaign but the investment office is in Chicago.
Ms. Cupps will be responsible for monitoring existing investments, external investment managers and related investment operations to enhance performance within the portfolio.
Jim Patterson, Vanderbilt spokesman, said university officials plan to announce new staffing for the office in August.
