Satya Kumar was named managing director, head of solutions for the U.S. at Allianz Global Investors, spokeswoman Megan Frank said.
The position is new.
Mr. Kumar will be responsible for the strategic direction and deployment of Allianz Global Investors' solutions business in the U.S. He will be based in New York and report to Joe Moody, head of international solutions.
Mr. Kumar was a partner at Aon Hewitt Investment Consulting. His responsibilities have been assumed by other members of the staff, spokeswoman MacKenzie Lucas said.
Allianz Global Investors had more than $488 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
