Gerry Fowler was named investment director, idea generation, within the multiasset investment team at Standard Life Investments, spokeswoman Rosalind Gould said.
The position is new. Mr. Fowler will generate ideas, investment recommendations and implementation strategies for the multiasset investment team’s range of funds and strategies. He is based in Edinburgh and reports to Guy Stern, executive director of multiasset and macro investing.
Mr. Fowler was global head of equity and derivatives strategy at BNP Paribas. It could not be learned by press time whether he was replaced; BNP Paribas spokeswoman Julia Boyce could not be reached by press time.
Standard Life Investments had $383.7 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
