Thomas J. Coleman joined Standard Life Investments as North America senior investment specialist, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. Coleman is helping the firm grow its global fixed-income capabilities by working closely with the asset class management teams and with the consultant relations, sales and client relationships teams. He also oversees and manages the North American investment specialist team, which educates SLI’s clients on how specific strategies can help them achieve their investment objectives.
He is based in Boston and reports to Jack Boyce, managing director and head of North American distribution.
Mr. Coleman was vice president and fixed-income investment director at Wellington Management. Wellington spokeswoman Sara Sherman declined to comment on whether he was replaced.
Standard Life Investments had $383.7 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
