State-Boston Retirement System is searching for at least one domestic small-cap equity manager to run $270 million, said John Kelly, pension fund investment analyst.
NEPC, investment consultant to the $4.1 billion defined benefit plan, is assisting with the search.
The pension fund could hire one or more managers. Each firm’s small-cap equity offering must have a three-year track record and assets of at least $250 million within the strategy to be considered.
The pension fund’s website lists Boston Co. Asset Management and Westfield Capital Management as the current managers. They are invited to rebid.
The RFP is available on NEPC’s website.
Proposals are due by 3 p.m. EDT on July 15. A selection is expected to be made in the fall.
