New Jersey Division of Investment hired TorreyCove Capital Partners as private equity consultant for the $79.2 billion New Jersey Pension Fund, Trenton, said a notice of intent to award from Christopher McDonough, director of investments.
TorreyCove will act as primary consultant and performance measurement specialist for the pension fund. Current primary private equity consultant and performance measurement specialist Strategic Investment Solutions will now serve as a secondary consultant, along with Cliffwater, LP Capital Advisors and Wilshire Associates. There are currently no secondary consultants.
The division issued an RFP in July 2014.
The division’s allocations to private markets investments as of April 30 were: 7.88% buyouts/venture capital, 1.48% private real assets, 0.99% debt-related private equity, and 0.23% opportunistic private equity.
Christopher Santarelli, spokesman for the New Jersey Department of Treasury, did not return a phone call by press time.
