Montana Board of Investments, Helena, is searching for an executive search firm to help the board hire a new chief investment officer, said David Ewer, executive director.
Clifford A. Sheets plans to retire as CIO in October.
The RFP is available on the state's procurement website. Proposals are due by 2 p.m. MDT on July 20.
It has not officially been determined whether the board will hire an executive search firm or handle the process internally, Mr. Ewer said. It will be revisited at the Aug. 18 board meeting.
A CIO job posting is available on the board's website. Applications are due by July 31. A timeline for a hiring decision has not officially been set.
The board oversees $16.6 billion in assets, which includes $10 billion in pension fund assets.
