California State Teachers’ Retirement System, West Sacramento, hired Meketa Investment Group as its private equity consultant, said Ricardo Duran, spokesman for the $194.1 billion pension fund, in an e-mail.
Meketa will replace Pension Consulting Alliance.
PCA’s contract was set to expire June 30, but it was extended until Sept. 30 to allow for the transition.
The contract will require that John Haggerty, a managing principal and director of private markets investments at Meketa, be CalSTRS’ lead private equality consultant.
PCA was the other finalist, Mr. Duran said.
Both Meketa and PCA are general consultants for CalSTRS.
